Hello everyone! My name is Caleb Silver and this is my testimony. I grew up in a Christian home with parents who taught me about Jesus from a young age. Because I was raised in the church, I learned how I should represent myself as a Christian young man in every aspect of my life. I knew a lot about Jesus, but I was not living for Jesus until I gave my life to Him when I was 16 years old. It took me years realize that my relationship with Jesus was less about what I could do and more about what He has already done. I was saved around the same time I was confirmed at my church when I received a book called Shaken by Tim Tebow from my parents. Growing up, I developed a passion for sports and Tim Tebow was an athlete that I looked up to. After reading his book, I was inspired to put my faith into action more. This led me to make an Instagram account called the FHL Movement, which was inspired by the Tim Tebow Foundation's mission to spread faith, hope, and love to those in their darkest hour of need. Creating an Instagram account was a way for me reflect on everything I was learning and encourage others all at once. For a short period of time, I changed the accounts name to The Message Devotionals as my church went through a bible study called The Message. Every Sunday I volunteered to work in the back of my church where I would control the slides, video tape the service, and help out with the sound system. When I controlled the slides, I always had a copy of my pastor's notes and I would take them home to study them. Around this time, I began to create my own content for the account using an app called Canva and started posting daily devotionals. The account grew to reach a couple hundred people and God put it on my heart to change the name of the account to Spread His Word Daily. This name change was inspired by the very command that Jesus gave His disciples,
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” - Mark 16:15
I began to dive deeper in my walk with Jesus and it carried over to my involvement in athletics. I was passionate about running and around the same time that I gave my life to Jesus, I was entering my Sophomore cross country season. Running became more than just a sport for me and I began to use my gift for a greater purpose. Years later, the account grew to reach thousands of people all around the world and I was in awe of the way that God was moving through me to make a difference in the lives of many. As the Spread His Word Daily community grew wider, my mission only grew stronger. I knew that I wanted to connect Spread His Word and For His Glory together in the future so I just prayed for the right opportunity. While at college, I entered a season of my life where I began to feel distant from God. Throughout the summer leading into college, my family received news that our dog had a heart disorder and was in his last days. He ended up passing away shortly after I found out my grandpa had a heart attack and that was when everything changed for me. At the time, my grades weren't what I wanted them to be and my cross country season had just finished up so rather than being excited to go back to college, I just wanted to stay home. I finished out my first semester of college and thankfully had a long Christmas break to look forward to. After wanting to withdraw from all my classes for the spring semester initially, I decided to return to campus (my mom would have made me anyway) and it was the right choice. Before I returned to campus that next semester, God closed a few doors in my life only to lead me closer to Him. The new year came and commitment was the word that I chose to guide me throughout the year. I wanted to be all in for Jesus, commit my ways to Him, and let Him guide my steps.
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” - Proverbs 16:3
During the spring of 2020, God put it on my heart to change the name of my account so I could connect it with my passion for running (For His Glory). It took me some time to realize that what I was searching for was right in front of me in Mark 16:15... the verse that inspired me to spread His word with others. The word proclaim stuck out to me and I decided to keep the "daily " as a reminder that preaching the gospel is more than just a Sunday thing, but a lifestyle. God gave me a vision for the future to have the Proclaim Daily ministry with a clothing brand called Proclaim Supply, that featured a For His Glory collection. COVID-19 has set me back a little, but this summer has been full of preparation and growth as God continues guide me where He wants me to go. In this season, I have learned that Jesus = all I need.
