Alyssa's Testimony

Hi! I’m Alyssa. I’m just your average teen girl living in today’s society. I was introduced to Christianity as a young child and most of my family goes to church and reads the Bible. I never really understood why we lived the way we do as Christians and why it was so important. I thought we just did it because it was a part of our lifestyle, and it is. By the time I was twelve years old I started looking at the world around me for what it really was. I started doubting the existence of God and my life seemed to be getting better. Everything changed when I watched the movie God’s Not Dead. I realized that God is real, and science can’t explain how our universe came to be. God spoke to me through that movie. But then I had more questions, like why are some people’s lives better than others and they are atheists? My great grandmother is a strong woman and a believer. Over her last few years, she developed an incurable sickness. Why would God do this to her? I prayed about it and opened my Bible up to Job. God doesn’t take away good things from our lives. He doesn’t want us to be sad or miserable. He wants us to be happy. Sometimes Satan makes our lives “unfair” and takes away what we love. I’ve come a long way from my temptations and God has put it on my heart to share that whatever you are going through, you can get through it.
